• I offer Post Diagnostic Support in the form of an in depth assessment of  the impact of the individual’s autism and bringing them to an understanding of this. I would then design and implement the  relevant interventions I had identified either with the individual or with the whole family depending on their needs.

• I work collaboratively with medical professionals to address the mental health needs of individuals arising from their autism.

• I can carry out Functional Behaviour Analysis of the challenges being experienced within a school or work context in order that an understanding is gained of WHY the behaviour is occurring and then determine HOW to support this. This would involve me not only assessing the individual but also their environment and the demands on the young person/adult then working collaboratively with the staff team to develop a supportive and meaningful environment for them. This would involve visiting the work place or school in order to share the information of how to support the individual and any adjustments that may be required to their environment in order to do this. I would model the approaches and interventions recommended to ensure those taking ownership of delivery felt confident in doing so and understood why.
